James I (1603–1625)
The coinage of James I spans three major coinages and reflects the early Stuart monarchy’s artistic and political identity. His silver issues — shillings, sixpences, halfgroats, pennies, and farthings — display a rich variety of bust types, mint marks, and stylistic changes. These coins are highly collectable for their craftsmanship and for the insight they offer into the first unified monarchy of England and Scotland.
