GAUL, TREVERI

The Treveri were a Celtic tribe of the Belgae group, inhabiting the lower Moselle River valley from around 150 BC until their displacement by the Franks. Their territory spanned parts of modern Luxembourg, southeastern Belgium, and western Germany, with their center at Trier (Augusta Treverorum), named after them.
