English “sterling bust” copper-alloy jeton. Crowned bust of king facing; border of pellets. Reverse short cross moline with a pellet in each angle; border of pellets. Early 14th century. Cf. Mitchiner, Jetons, Medalets & Tokens, nos. 102–103. 20 mm. The central indentation is characteristic of English jetons of this period, believed to have been added to prevent silvering and fraudulent passing as coinage.
