Contemporary imitation. Edward I type penny. Obverse: EDW R ANGL DNS HYB, crowned facing bust. Reverse: CIVITAS LONDON, long cross with three pellets in each angle. 1.3 g; 17 mm. Late 13th to early 14th century. The obverse legend matches genuine English issues up to Class 9, and the reverse bears the London mint signature, but the crown, portrait and several letter forms are not consistent with any official issue. Rare, interesting, and of very good quality.
