John (1199–1216)

The short‑lived coinage of King John continued the familiar short‑cross design introduced under Henry II. Although stylistically conservative, the series contains a variety of moneyers and mints, with subtle class distinctions that help place individual coins within the turbulent early 13th century. Well‑struck examples are increasingly scarce and remain highly collectable.
