Henry VI (1422–1461) — First Reign

The first reign coinage of Henry VI spans a turbulent period marked by the later phases of the Hundred Years’ War and growing instability at home. The series includes several distinctive issues—Annulet, Rosette‑Mascle, Pinecone‑Mascle, and Leaf‑Trefoil—each identifiable by their characteristic punctuation marks and stylistic features. Calais and London were the principal mints, with York producing both royal and ecclesiastical issues. These coins offer a rich field for study, with numerous mules, die varieties, and rare sub‑types.
