Gaul, Senones
The Celtic Senones tribe were from the Seine river valley region in north‑central France. During Julius Caesar’s Gallic Wars of 58–50 BC, the Senones opposed Caesar but were eventually subdued and their lands were integrated into Roman Gaul. The Senones left a lasting mark through their name on the city of Sens and their role in shaping early Roman‑Celtic interactions.
