WRA 11001

Openwork Plate Brooch. A bronze Roman openwork plate brooch in the form of a swastika motif within a square border, a recognised decorative type of the 2nd–3rd century AD. The brooch retains its hinge and catchplate, with much of the original tinned or silvered surface still present. The iron pin is missing, as is typical for the type.
