Medieval Disc Brooch . A copper-alloy disc brooch that consists of a thin circular front plate riveted at the centre to a clasp. The front plate is decorated to simulate a seal matrix with a star like motif in the centre and pseudo legend around. Circa 13th - 14th century. UKDFD # 28623. East Yorkshire. 25mm diameter. An extremely rare if not unique piece. Illustrated in The Yorkshire Numismatist # 4, page 212, Fig 23.
