Romano-British Enamelled Duck Brooch. A fine Romano-British enamelled zoomorphic brooch in the form of a swimming duck with an unusual hooked bill. Cast bronze with most of the orange and blue enamel intact. 2nd Century AD. See Richard Hattatt, Brooches of Antiquity, p. 233, no. 1166 for a similar example. Found in Lincolnshire. Length: 30 mm. Approximately half of the working pin remaining. |
