Medieval Strap-end. A copper-alloy three-piece strap-end with a three-dimensional terminal in the shape of an acorn. The decoration consists of an elaborate open work trefoil arch, inside this is a stem with an acorn terminal rising up. Above the arch is engraved a large fleurs-de-lis while below is a panel with a cross hatched design. Circa 1350 - 1450. References Cf. MoL Dress Accessories, Nos. 704-705.
